Manager, Industrial Design (Graco & Century)

  • In this role I managed Industrial Design deliverables for all Graco and Century baby gear (strollers, car seats, high chairs, and playards), ensuring the consumer experience, retail journey, and brand perceptions are all considered and accounted for in the product design.

  • Led a $100 million dollar “Next Gen” Car Seat innovation platform that will be in market through 2035.

  • Tasked with shepherding a vast array of highly technical and mechanically complex projects through the design process while driving collaboration amongst cross disciplinary designers to achieve solutions that are on cost, on time, and on brand.

  • Responsible for the skill and career development for a diverse team of designers, from Associate to Senior level. Highly focused on driving improvement in the 3 areas of Talent, Process, and Character.

Manager, Industrial Design (Baby Jogger)

  • Responsible for managing Industrial Design efforts for the entire Baby Jogger product portfolio, including strollers, car seats, and home products.

  • Led the design and development process for the Red Dot 2022 Award Winning City Sights Stroller.

  • Managed 2 Senior Designers tasked with delivering premium performance innovation and fashion design across the Baby Jogger business. Championed constructive, team based collaborative behavior across “Big D” functions for all BBJ projects, while also establishing healthy partnerships with a new MKT Director and 2 new Brand Managers.

  • NUK: Managed an intern focused infant feeding innovation project for a Wal-Mart exclusive product line, which led to patentable concepts and awarding of additional business by the retailer.

Principal Industrial Designer

  • Led Advanced Innovation projects for Newell’s market leading portfolio of writing brands including Parker, Waterman, Sharpie (S Gel), and Paper Mate.

  • Tasked with crafting, auditing, and implementing robust VBLs & VDLs, and effectively driving those strategies into new product innovations.

  • Fostered healthy, daily communication to align x-functional teams, shepherding designs from sketch to prototype to production.

  • Lead designer for 2 Good Design award winning products, the Sharpie S-Gel and the Paper Mate Write Bros.

  • Along with cross functional teams I drive a “Human Centered” Design Thinking approach rooted in strong consumer research and user insights to unlock new and ownable consumer product experiences that marry brand positioning with technical innovation.

  • Our long term goal of unlocking infinite growth is driven by our mission to build a $1 Billion innovation funnel for the Family Care business.

Manager, Industrial Design - Future Innovation

  • In this role I managed Future Innovation projects across the full spectrum of Newell’s brand portfolio utilizing Design Thinking and Futurist methodologies. Our main focus was to create platforms that would generate $50-$100 million dollars of revenue per program.

  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with Business Unit leaders, brand directors, and R&D functions to ensure long term financial goals align to the innovation roadmaps. Working primarily in the Horizon 2 and Horizon 3 of the roadmap we guide the business toward "big bets" using deep insights into trend, technology, usability, and market forecasting.

  • Employ Design Thinking and Innovation Methodologies to unify brand positioning strategies with robust product concepts. Drive cross functional approach in creating product briefs that address long term brand strategies 5+ years into the future.
