Sharpie S-Gel

The Sharpie S-Gel design builds on Sharpie's iconic design language while adding bold new details in the metalized band, spiral grip, and chamfered button. Special effort was made to ensure the matte, chrome, and soft touch finishes all worked together to elevate the pen to a more premium level.

The leading competitor in the retractable gel space is the Pilot G2, and the goal of this project was to launch a Sharpie gel pen that offered greater visual appeal, more modern finishes, and a more premium presentation.

To date, the Sharpie S-Gel pen, a 2021 Good Design Award winner, has accrued over $100 million dollars in revenue for Newell Brands.
